Hey!
The GNT in Mtn. View was a wonderful time and missed your presence
Friday night was a blessed kick-off that generated responses like, "This is great! I'm bringing a friend tomorrow for sure!" and in re: to the painting of Jesus, "This IS what God is like, He loves us all!" Considering we began on a Friday afternoon at 2:30, we had a nice turnout and even the bible worker, Roshelle, (who helped bunches on coordinating this event) remarked on how great it was.
The whole team arrived on Thursday and the video/audio crew began a tedious set up - we are thankful for their hardwork!
Sabbath morning and afternoon provided a full church and the lectures, wow...they were incredible! Each building on the other and bringing a clear and beautiful picture of God. And once again, Sat. evening's panel discussion went over schedule with people eager to have their questions answered. It went late but no one seemed to mind.
I got the chance to meet a friend, Elmer, who I've only conversed with on an email mailing and just happened to find him and his friends Arturo and Gabriella, when their table was the only one with empty chairs at dinnertime. We got to talking and realized who the other one was and voila! A warm fellowship followed over spaghetti dinner. Also, I had the pleasure of meeting Dead Mike and his family! Hey Mike and Veronica!
Anyway, there were new friends made and our only wish is that we could have stayed longer to fellowship and talk and talk and talk...Anyway, we are all getting settled at home now and about to dive into post production work - er, well, Marco is about to dive in that is. I'm strictly there for moral support
Love ya!

Hi Alan!
I had every intention of taking a picture of all the speakers and our HS.com family and all holding a sign "Hi Robbie!" - - I remember how neat it was that he got a picture of everyone last time. Well, things were so hectic that I took one picture with my camera.......sorry! Anyway, I had a great time and I thought that the content was great. We'll get it up on the site as soon as possible.

Brad~
As soon as I saw Alan's post here, I thought about how good we did last year taking pictures...and this year, well, let's just say I'm thankful for Christie who was the ONLY one I saw snapping when the oppurtunity arose.
Thank you Christie!!!
Love,
Stacie

Brad & Stacie,
Thanks guys! Rob & I are soooooo glad to hear it went well....in the words of my teenager "GNT is awesome"
I've already promised him we WILL be at the next one - we love all you guys very much!
On a side note....say a prayer for me as I interview for a counseling position at Southern Adventist University this week. Along with Tim teaching SS at the Collegedale church, this job could further open your ministry in this neck of the woods 8)
Take care and God bless,
Alan

I'm heading home right now!!!!
Three hours in the Portland airport!
It was all worth it and I would do it again next week. I did suggest (from an earlier lead) having the next GNT as a cruise
The GNT Holy Land Cruise.

Hi all,
Glad to hear the GNT went so well!! I'm back from the CA trip, which was wonderful from start to finish, except for the part of not being able to go the GNT and to meet you folks. It was whirlwind trip as it was. I'm going to consider the fact that I missed the event as a signal that I'm supposed to return to CA again soon to make up for the fact.
Take care,
Lori

The Good News Tour Update
Thursday, November 08 2007 @ 10:25 PM PST
Dorothee Cole shares:
"The Good News Tour had originally been approved by and scheduled at Warner Pacific College – a Christian college in Portland, Oregon. However, after reviewing our “Servant to the world” painting for advertisement approval, the college leadership decided to cancel our event just two months prior to the scheduled date and just three days prior to the deadline for advertisement submission."
"To advertise our conference, we submitted large posters to be displayed in six Portland malls and the advertisement company approved them for content. However, after the ads were up for only 48 hours, certain customer complaints prompted the advertisement company to immediately take down our posters in all of the malls."
Poster in question:
http://tinyurl.com/ytgwud
I don't know what the specific complaint about the poster was, but assume it might have been the inclusion of Osama bin Laden, who has been behind various terrorist attacks, including 911.
I was thinking, why was Hitler not included, or some famous child molester. Would we consider these people as followers of Jesus? After all, Jesus did not wash just anybodies' feet. Not that he wouldn't have, but He did only wash the feet of His disciples, who are thought of as being His followers, even though Judas was among them.
Any thoughts?
If it can't be stated simply, it's not understood.
