Genesis, part 1 |
| How should we approach the evolution vs. creation debate? Did God create in 6 literal days or did God use the process of evolution? Why did God put a tree in the garden for Adam and Eve to avoid? But the ultimate question asked of this Bible study was this: what is the essence of sin? What did Eve do that was so bad? How do we associated the problem (which began with eating forbidden fruit) with the solution - the death of Jesus Christ? |

Bible Study Introduction - 2007 |
| This is the first Bible study that begins another 2 year trip through the Bible. During this Bible study, some of the most important concepts in the Bible are discussed. What is the main purpose of the Bible? Why did Jesus come? Who is Jesus? Why does God sometimes appear to be different than Jesus in character? How can an all-powerful and all-good God allow little children to starve to death? |

Revelation |
This Bible study concludes a 2 year trip through the Bible. What is the main point of the book of Revelation? How are we to understand all the symbols?
What is revealed about God in this book? What is the seal of God and, by contrast, what is the mark of the beast?
Finally, how do you preach the 3rd angels message?
As with all of the book by book Bible studies, it is more helpful to listen to the audio after downloading the power point slides.

James |
| Paul says that all God asks of us is trust, and he cites Abraham as an example of this. Does james paint a contradictory message when he says this: "How was our ancestor Abraham put right with God? It was through his actions." |

Thessalonians, Timothy, and Titus |
Thessalonians has much to say about the second coming. What does it mean to fall asleep in Christ? Do people go right to heaven when they die? Is the soul immortal?
In the book of Timothy, Paul gives advice about what kind of a person would be a good leader in the church. How many of the great men and women in the Bible would you actually want to have as your church head elder? |

Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians |
| These 3 books were all written from prison, but Paul speaks in the most clear and beautiful language about love, freedom and the unity that God will achieve. Unity between his people as they complete the body of Christ; unity as we - his living stones - build the spiritual temple with Christ as the cornerstone; and unity with Christ, an experience no less intense than a man and a woman coming together in love. |

Galatians |
What was it that stirred Paul to say that if anyone - even an angel from heaven - preached a different gospel, that he should be condemned to hell. What's so important about Paul's version of the gospel?
What law was added to be our schoolmaster? Why does God make so much use of law? What does it mean to be free of the law? How is it possible for us to obey the law?

1 and 2 Corinthians |
The church of Corinth was a church with rebellious elements and with members who carried remnants of paganism. A man in church was sleeping with his step mother; baptisms for the dead; people getting drunk at the Lord's supper; and speaking in strange tongues. What are we to learn from Paul's dealing with this church?
Also, should we follow Paul's advice that it is a disgraceful thing for a woman to speak in church? Should we follow Paul's advice that it is a better thing not to marry? Shouldn't we do what the Bible says?
1 Corinthians 13 says that Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Does God keep a record of wrongs? |

Hebrews |
What does the book of Hebrews tell us about the role of Christ as our High Priest? What is Jesus doing in the Heavenly Sanctuary? What does it mean, "without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin?"
Finally, why did Paul choose to put people like "Gideon" and "Samson" in the chapter on faith? Are these men examples of great faith?
Note: The audio recording came out with a lot of echo. Thanks to Marco though for improving the sound as much as possible! |
