HeavenlySanctuary.com & Pathfinders!

PIC00011_1.jpgI thought I'd share some pictures from one of the events I recently spoke at. The Columbia Basin District Pathfinders hold a yearly campout and I was fortunate enough to be invited. I just want to say that I think it is imperative that we support this organization - they truly are making a difference. I've spoken at several Pathfinder outings and everytime I find myself impressed by the dedication of the volunteers. The kids are incredible - that goes without saying - but what is most shocking is that all of them seem happy! I know I know... Hard to believe ;-) I'm happy to report that 17 people handed in requests to study for baptism. The God of Love, Liberty and Freedom is oh so attractive!

Thanks, Pastor Marco, for keeping your commitment to speak to the Pathfinders, even though you moved to California.
I have heard several wonderful reports of the Holy Spirit leading in camper's lives.
The reason Pathfindering works so well? Discipling! It's adults allowing God to use them to follow Jesus example and disciple "kids" for Christ.
I understand this was your first camping experience! Not bad, huh?

Wayne, Yes, I want to affirm what you said - the volunteers are amazing. The adults who dedicate themselves to this ministry are full of goodness. I wish I could explain it - but it really does require an experience with Pathfinders. I find it strange that I was not nearly as aware of just how big of an impact The Pathfinders are making in areas like evangelism, outreach and service to the community. I think many church members have also missed this. This last year as I've worked with Pathfinders in different areas I've now come to realize how imperative it is in supporting them. Our ministry team will continue to pray for the leadership (which is another area that I like about Pathfinders - leadership is by and large gained by example and service - I was amazed by how those in charge usually were doing the most work!) and rest in the knowledge that God will keep leading youth into a world group who will represent Him by having a character like Him. - Marco
