Animate

Do you have a head full of theology yet still yearn to experience God one-on-one?  Do you have you head in your bible yet feel as if your heart is far from him? Check out the Animate series at the Woodland Hill Church and see what has many people buzzing.

Jeremy Berg of Daily Illumination says, "If you’ve never heard Greg Boyd preach you are missing out.  He brings a unique blend of sophisticated, high-level learning packaged in a very engaging, accessible, practical preaching style that connects with the rest of us."  Sermon resources here and discussion boards here.  If you like what you see, start a thread right here on Hs.com and tell us what's on your mind!

The bible teaches that today is the day of our salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2) That's not yesterday or tomorrow but right this moment!  If we look at the Greek origin of the word salvation or  sozo, we find it means  which means to save, heal, preserve, and make whole. This is good news for we need not wait to do something in order for God to touch our hearts - He can't help but heal us and resurrect the old person within us to a new life and spirit!  Greg's Animate series was designed to help each of us realize our full potential not for some future kingdom but for the Kingdom of Today (Luke 17).

I have a question. What are your opinions on "imaginative prayer" and that kind of stuff? To me, it's what the church has done before and during the middle ages, some sort of chantic prayer, without any real depth or meaning, something that invites the occult, don't you think?

That's one of the things Pr. Boyd has been encouraging members to do. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but stuff like that makes me cringe.
