Evanescence

Sometimes you can find the great news about God in the most unlikely of places - like Wikipedia for example. Amy Lee and Ben Moody met at a youth camp and later formed the rock pop group, "Evanescence." Even though the band has expressed a desire to not be pigeon-holed as a Christian rock band, Ben Moody was quoted as describing a belief that many here on HSdotcom (as well as around the world - past and present) rejoice over: "The message we as a band want to convey more than anything is simple—God is Love," and also, "We hope to express in our music that Christianity is not a rigid list of rules to follow only out of fear of an unseen deity who will strike you down at any given moment if you fail."

Ben continued, "Amy and I are Christians, but we are not a Christian band. We write about a number of things, just things we experience in life. Because our spirituality is a big part of our lives, it comes through in our music. But our lives are our ministry. Our music is just a way for us to convey the message to those who listen that they are not alone."

Ben touched on such a powerful concept here! He's explained quite succinctly the law of love that fuels the universe. It is plain to see that we - along with every other created thing in the universe - we're not created to consume and horde and work for self but instead, act as conduits of the love God has shown us. So, be it music or art or teaching or whatever your God-given talent might be, don't wait another day to share it. Create a ministry out of your life and watch some incredible doors fly open.

Excellent Stacie,

I'm always waiting for God to give me some kind of miracle revelation in terms of what my personal ministry should be.....maybe I'm right in the middle of it! The thoughts you helped ignite in this post has made my week and something to really focus on this Sabbath - Thanks

Alan
