You're Fired!

When Jesus set foot beside Lake Galilee, he beheld his first two recruits, Peter and Andrew. He made them an offer that most people would laugh at: a career that would guarantee humiliation, scorn, and hatred. When God bid the disciples, "Come with me, and I will teach you to catch people" little did they know God was offering them a salary of limitless treasure, power that would melt hearts, fame that would far exceed their wildest dreams, and the prestige of winning souls out of darkness.

The world works a little differently and even creates television programs glorifying its methods. Many people are familiar with the Donald Trump reality TV show called "The Apprentice." The contestants will do whatever it takes to win an oppurtunity to catch the prize - a coveted position within Trump's business empire garnering a six-figure salary. Pastor Gary Fogelquist from The North Cascade SDA Church in Burlington, Washington gives us a good outline why we can praise God that He doesn't work the same way as Mr. Trump.
