Scared Sacred

Filmmaker Velcrow Ripper broke fresh ground with his film, "Scared Sacred" where he visited the world's "Ground Zeros." Ripper spotlights people who have experienced evil's grip and chose to turn the "other cheek"- the cheek that hordes revenge and hatred. Witness for yourself men, women and children taking the most gruesome of offenses and baptizing them in the power of love - the transformation is astounding. While Cambodia, Afghanistan, India and countless other countries have been homes to devastation, they are but echoes of Revelation 12:7 when Lucifer took issue with God's methods - ground zero number 1. The Bible itself does not take long before describing in chapter 3 of Genesis the First Parent's plunge into the second ground zero - distrust of God's methods. What do these two events say about God? That He is inept at creating anything good? Or are they in fact, the precise evidence that the universe needs to see that it was truly created to experience life, liberty and love?Ever since, the world has been spinning out of control begging for something to set it straight and keep it straight. Has God forsaken us? John 1:14 says, "The Word became a human being. He made his home with us." And from the words of Jesus, "I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will never walk in darkness. They will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12 and in Matthew he encourages us to turn the scared to sacred, "But here is what I tell you. Do not fight against an evil person. Suppose someone hits you on your right cheek. Turn your other cheek to him also. Suppose someone takes you to court to get your shirt. Let him have your coat also. Suppose someone forces you to go one mile. Go two miles with him." Mathew 5:39-41. "Scared Sacred" is, in my opinion, one of the most thoughtful and responsible cinematic portraits of love ever produced on the the silver screen.
