Immeasurable Love

"And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is." Ephesians 3:17,18

This wide and deep love of God is the kind that turns the world's reasoning upside down!  It is the kind of love that will bend humbly before Oppression and serve with all it's might and leave Hatred's and Anger's jaw on the floor. I remember hearing a story once about a family who went on a road trip in their RV and found themselves being held captive by two robbers.  The two crooks held the family at gun point demanding anything of value like purses and jewelry.  Then the unexpected happened  The father asked his wife to pull out their hidden valuables like a camcorder and more money to give to the thieves which of course left the intruders dumbfounded.

The men had never in all their criminal career ever come across victims who joyfully gave over their belongings!  This was amazing!The father proceeded to sing hymns encouraging the family to join in and they did.  Before the night was over, the thieves were begging to be forgiven and even apologized to the terrorized family.

Could you bring yourself to do as this father did? And let's say you did and your offenders just laughed and beat you senseless? Could you demonstrate immeasurable love as God did to those who murdered Him?
