Murder 101

A Pakistani father claims his daughter committed adultery so he hacked her to death in order to preserve family honor and as a lesson to her younger siblings. He felt that a strict punishment-even unto death-would prevent a ripple effect of bad behavior. He then decided why not make double sure the smaller children never repeat their older sister's alleged sin and went on to slay them as well.  Rights groups believe that in order to curb such heinous crimes, perpertrators ought to receive a stricter punishment.  Okay, something is seriously wrong with this picture.

Did murder change the young adulteress's heart if indeed she even committed such an act? And what did her siblings learn?  Would a stronger punishement such as public hanging change this father's heart and mind? How about everyone looking on?  Do you wish to live next door to someone that doesn't kill you because the law says not to or because he knows it is the wrong thing to do?

I definitely don't think who cheated on who is what needs to be worried about here. So someone commited adultery. Who cares?!?! If she deserved a punishment for that, it's up to her spouse to decide what to do, not her father. It's not even any of her father's bussiness. That he killed her, and then his other children, comes to show that he was completely deranged, and that this world has some really messed up cultural values. It's because of events like these that I have the "different" beliefs that I do. Religious and otherwise. And that's all I'm going to say.......

Is now a good time to start examining child-rearing practices...like...before we blow the world up?

This is intresting, I truly believe that no one should ever have there life taken because of something they do. Yes I also mean the father in this story too. I think that everyone makes mistakes....some REALLY big compared to others. Think about it though if you had not made the mistakes you made in the past would you really be the person you are today? That means a lot if you love the person you are, maybe even more if you don't.

Especially considering no punishment ever fits the crime. Very off topic but an example to help people understand my piont of view....Okay so just for example...Say some person takes advantage of you, now most people reaction is to hurt that person back some way, but does that take back what happened? No. Does that make it go away? No! Does that stop you from having to deal with it? No! So I mean for the girl there is no way her should been taken. And as for the father and punishment he may recieve, also does not deserve to die.
