God in a Womb

This time of year finds many people running out to gather gifts, decorations, food and the like to round out a nice holiday season. Some of us even take it a bit further and buy nativity sets and read stories to our children about baby Jesus who was born to Mary and Joseph and spent His first night in a stable where Wise Men came to visit Him bearing gifts. Some take it even further to explain why baby Jesus came, to save the world from it's sin. Here at HS.com we'd like to turn your attention to a God who has the power to create something out of nothing and decided around 2,000 years ago to condescend and become helpless fetus...
God became an embryo. God allowed Himself to travel the passage that every human being travels - beginning as a zygote, incubating for 9 months in a womb and experiencing birth just like every person has experienced since the beginning of time. What kind of God would do this? Some didn't believe it then nor do some believe it today..
When Mary and Joseph presented their first born at the temple, not unlike every other Jewish parent, the priest knew Him not. "In the child Jesus he [the priest] saw only a helpless infant. Little did the priest think that he was then holding in his arms the Saviour of the world, the High Priest of the heavenly temple." The Story of Jesus p. 19.
Who would have believed that the Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Wonderful Counselor and Creator of the Universe could or would even contemplate becoming the creation? We believe He did just that. We believe that God came to demonstrate before all earthly and non-earthly intelligences the beauty of His character, the vastness of His love and the enduring and deep love He has for His children. Wow, what wonderful news!! The Hs.com team wishes you and your family bountiful blessings during this season of celebration and may you find truth where you least expect it.
