Discovery In Megiddo

christian_mosaic.gifAll it took was a shovel,  a bucket of water and the hands of a prisoner in a Megiddo prison to uncover a story that involves a Roman officer and a Christian woman named Aketous who both gave funds to build a church  in memory of, “of the god, Jesus Christ.” It appears that mosaics have been discovered by the inmates who were cleaning up a site planned for new construction.

There are skeptics of course, however, discoveries like this are worth celebrating.

I've always been into archeology. I love it! But unfortunately I've never done any reading about it or been able to practice it -- ever. If you think about it, you realize that the religion of Christianity is pretty old, the times of its inception, 2000 years ago, are slowly but surely getting buried year after year under increasing amounts of dirt and other stuff. Who knows what could be under the earth? New gospels? Relics, artifacts? Ancient churches? Who knows what one could find. It comes to show how old human civilization is becoming. We really need to step up the excavations of ancient Christianity.
