Though Your Mother Forsake You...

A woman in San Francisco claims she heard voices that instructed her to drop her children into the San Francisco Bay. A witness called 911 after watching her undress the children and then one by one let them go from the bridge. After reading the headlines with my 12 year-old daughter Jessica, she asked, "Why did that woman even listen to that voice?" The only thing I could think of was that the mother trusted the voices in her head enough to carry out such a horrible act. Where we put our trust is a powerful thing.
Though there are mothers and fathers who willfully abandon their babies we can take hope in our heavenly Father who never forsakes us. Maybe your parents hurt you deeply physically or otherwise, so the words of Isaiah 49 just might resonate with you and bring some sort of comfort, "Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I'd never forget you - never. Look, I've written your names on the back of my hands." The Message Bible
God can be trusted.
