Supreme Court justice, Sandra Day O'Connor has resigned after serving our nation for 24 years. Whether or not you want to admit it, this resignation is pivotal-to say the least-in a huge way. Will and can this make a difference in our lives as Americans? Is our freedom, in any way, at stake here?

Scary stuff. The Religious Right were salivating at a chance to snag one of these supreme court positions for a long, long time. They waited and bided thier tiime, knowing the right oppourtunity would present itself if they were patient. Now they have the chance. Strategically speaking, this is the grassroots level they have to infiltrate if they want to enforce religious laws.
Our freedom is definitely at stake if Bush gets someone from the Religious Right in the Supreme Court, that's for sure.
