Think As I Do

Peter Jennings does it. Rush Limbaugh does it. Bud Light, Marlboro, Nike and WalMart do it. They all exercise the power of persuasion and why exactly? Why do we get angry or frustrated or anxious when someone doesn't believe us? Is is because we fear not being trusted?
Is it because if they don't believe us we will be at a disadvantage involving a bottom line? Is it because we have a burning desire to be right all the time or a combination of all of the above? If you are a Christian who is on a mission to change the world by sharing Jesus Christ, I hope you will ask yourself this question, "Why am I doing this? What is my motive?" Because unless we have our hearts dialed into the truth about God's character, we are at serious risk of working for the enemy.
Do you think the news of Jesus coming soon is exciting? Maybe that is because you know Him but there are millions who don't know Him and so therefore don't trust Him and why should they? Because a Christian says so? EEEEEEEEEE! Wrong answer. What would be the right one? And why are we putting the coming of God in the future as if He cannot dwell in us today? Where do we go from here and what is our motive for "changing" our neighbor's mind? And also, do we really want them to take our word for it or come to a sober and thoughtful conclusion on their own?
