Happy Day of Freedom!

Today is Saturday.  A day that some revere as a sacred day, set apart-but why? What makes these 24 hrs. any different than the rest of the week?  I see it as a day that represents the other 6, saying with boldness, "See that God is not the person Satan has made Him out to be!"  It says, "Take the truth about God into the rest of your week and soak in the greatest news this planet could ever fathom!"

At the end of Creation week, God sanctified the seventh day in that He created a sphere of time, 24 hours, dedicated to speaking what was right about Himself.  Job's life, his trials were monuments that testified of God's true character, just like the Sabbath testifies of God's true character.  Job was a Sabbath in action so to speak.  Are you a Sabbath in action? If you are interested in shedding light on the truth about God then  indeed you are!

How can a day set us free? It can't. Only the truth it symbolizes can.  The Sabbath answers to the allegations set forth by Satan himself, that God is a tyrannical deity who desires nothing more than our servitude and that we really are not free.  How can the Sabbath prove we are free?  It isn't what happened on the Sabbath that proves God's love and negates the diabolical lies of the devil, it is all that preceded it. The seventh day was the period at the end of a statement made by the Creator.  God spoke all life into existence during 6 days and the seventh day was not when God rested because He was tired but was when He rested His case.

God created a perfect planet complete with it's own atmosphere fine-tuned to the needs of it's inhabitants. He then gave all creatures the power to pro-create, cool huh? Then He turned it all over to human beings to rule on the principles of love and liberty.  It was God's way of telling the universe that He's not some power-hungry divine pontiff.  His creations were a perfect expression of self-less, generous and gracious love. You and I are perfect expressions of the Creator's love.  Now that is something to sing about!

God says to you, "You are priceless to me. I love and honor you." Isaiah 43:4
