Freedom Works

When you think of freedom, what countries come to mind? What are the ingredients needed to produce a society that promotes complete respect of concience and fights doggedly to preserve the dignity of it's citizens? Do we as a nation still represent the principles entrusted to us in our conception? It is no secret we are living in perilous times. Even the secular world senses something of cataclysmic proportions waiting "even at the door."
I like what Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice says concerning Asia's future yet how are we as a people really promoting such principles? Has the pursuit of happiness and liberty become a cruel taunting fantasy that dissipates as fast as we can begin to imagine it? Have we in our "trading with nations", handed over the truth to be handed back the mirror that condemns us? Let us remember that how we treat the foreigner speaks volumes of how we will treat those who reside under our own roof.
“Ideas of freedom” – not raw power – will define 21st-century Asia, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said March 19 in Tokyo. “The future of Asia and the Pacific community will be defined around two great themes – openness and choice,” Rice said in remarks delivered at Sophia University. “Instead of closed societies or economies, instead of spheres of influence, we stand for an open world. Instead of an exclusive club of powers, we stand for a community open to all.” http://www.allamericanpatriots.com/m-news+article+storyid-8206.html
