Father's Day!

mad_science.gif
Today is Father's Day. Of course, for some of us, this doesn't always represent the fondest of memories. The good news is, whether you have the best biological dad in the whole world or your "pops" was a deadbeat, we at HeavenlySanctuary.com are absolutely convinced that our Daddy (this is what Abba means!) in Heaven is love personified. Let's always remember that no matter how life has been, we can take great pleasure in knowing that we are being healed by the goodness of our Maker - and even if we had earthly fathers who didn't live up to our expectations, we can take joy in serving them as Christ serves us.

I never had a good relationship with my dad. He was a very violent man. I always wanted him to love me, but he was so prideful...

Now, after all these years, he has had a stroke and can no longer live on his own. I am the only one who can take care of him and I count it a real testimony that God has healed me so that I feel like it is a privilege to care for my father. When I think of how I treated God my whole life and yet He never left me, it helps me to understand that what Father's Day is really all about is out God!

Love your fathers today, and if you haven't talked to your dad for a long time, why not give him a call and start the process of healing?

Whether you have, had, or didn't have an earthly father who took care of you the way he should have take solace in knowing that you do have a Heavenly Father who knows you and loves you like crazy~

The Lord says, "...I have taken good care of you since your life began. I have carried you..I will continue to carry you even when you are old. I will take good care of you even when your hair is grey. I have made you. And I will carry you.  I will take care of you. And I will save you. "  Isaiah 46:3,4

"I wanted you to know me and believe in me."  Isaiah 43:10

"You are priceless to me. I love you and honor you." Isaiah 43:4

These are all God's words that can be found like diamonds in a mine--bountiful, beautiful, meaningful and everlasting.

And they are all for you.

Stacie,

Those texts are great.

My dad was a drunk and very abusive so my mom left him when I was five. I sometimes dream of how different life would have been had my father been a loving Christian.

God is love. Love can only exist in community.

Sin, on the other hand is selfishness, isolation, and finally death.

My dad died at 87 after 60 years of being an alcoholic. Even though he was married three times and had three families he would have died totally alone and lonely except for the fact that my sisters an I heard of his condition, moved him from another town to a nursing home where we could visit him, and went to see him often.

I finally got to pray with him a couple of days before he died. I don't exactly understand how intercession works, but I do have hope and am confident that God did everything in His power to save my father. And He has lots of power.

In Christ, scott
